Bernd Lichtenberg

Bernd Lichtenberg (born June 24, 1966 in Leverkusen ) is a German screenwriter .

Live and act

Lichtenberg wrote radio features for WDR during his school days . He later completed a degree in philosophy and religious studies, followed by an internship at Sender Freie Berlin when he decided to study film at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne . In 1997 he wrote and directed the Kammerspiel short film Déjà vu with Katrin Saß and Wolfgang Winkler . He celebrated his big breakthrough with the script for Good Bye, Lenin! (Director: Wolfgang Becker ). For this he received the German Script Award 2002 and theEuropean film award in the “Best Screenplay” category .

In the meantime, Lichtenberg supervised projects as a lecturer and dramaturge at the Art Academy for Media. He lives in Cologne and Berlin .

Awards

  • 1995: Script award from the NRW Ministry of Culture for Treatment in the daylight of the night.
  • 2002: German Screenplay Award and European Film Award (“Best Screenplay”) for Good Bye, Lenin!
