Michael Haneke

Winner and nominee of the European Film Award in the category Best Screenwriter (European Screenwriter) since it was first awarded in 1988.

French authors received the most frequent script awards (four wins), followed by their Russian and German colleagues (three awards each). In 2009 the Austrian Michael Haneke ( The White Ribbon - A German Children's Story ) was successful.
