Ugo Chiti

Ugo Chiti (born February 13, 1943 in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa , Province of Florence ) is an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

In 1970 Chiti was one of the founders of the Teatro in Piazza , which dedicated itself to folk plays and dialect . From 1982, after he had already equipped two films, he was director of the Arca Azzurra Teatro , which he founded, with which he staged pieces such as Visita a Kafka or his own works such as La provincia di Jimmy and many others.

From 1986 to 1988 he worked on other sets for film, and from 1990 he wrote a considerable number of screenplays, often for Francesco Nuti , but also for Alessandro Benvenuti and Giovanni Veronesi . In 2008 he wrote an outstanding and award-winning film with Gomorrah . In 1996 and 1998 he also directed two films: Albergo Roma based on his play Allegretto… per bene ma non troppo and the story of a single mother in Italy in the 1950s, La seconda moglie .

Chiti's scripts have received multiple awards.
