Eran Riklis ( Hebrew ערן ריקליס; * 1954 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli film director.

Eran Riklis graduated from Beaconsfield National Film School in England with a degree in film . In 1984 he made his feature film debut with his graduation film On a Clear Day You Can See Damascus . With his second film In der Schußlinie in 1991 he achieved his first international success. He took part with the film at the Moscow Film Festival and showed the film within the International Forum of the Berlinale 1992 .

His final international breakthrough came in 2004 with the film The Syrian Bride . In 2008 he presented his film Lemon Tree at the Berlinale 2008 and received the Panorama Audience Award for this film and a nomination for the European Film Award 2008 in the category Best Screenplay . In 2011 he filmed the moving life story of Ralph Klein , one of the most colorful coaching personalities in German and Israeli post-war history, in the sports drama PlayOff , a German-French-Israeli production.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
