Cezary Harasimowicz (born August 20, 1955 in Łódź ) is a Polish screenwriter and actor.

Life

Harasimowicz is one of the most respected screenwriters in Poland. He had his international breakthrough with the refugee drama of two boys from Poland: 300 Miles to Heaven , which was nominated for the European Film Prize in 1989 . In the mid-1990s, Harasimowicz took part in the script workshop of Robert Redford's Sundance Institute . Meanwhile 10 feature films and TV series based on scripts by Cezary Harasimowicz have been made. In 1997 his script for the film Bandyta (German title: Bastard - Willkommen im Paradies ) was awarded at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia . The main role in this film was played by Til Schweiger , who also received an award for best actor. In 2005, Harasimowicz wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of the short prophecies of doom - time of reconciliation by Günter Grass . In addition to his scripts, he published three short stories. He is a lecturer in script writing and a member of the European Film Academy .

He is in a relationship with the actress Grażyna Wolszczak .
