Thomas Bidegain (2011)

Thomas Bidegain is a French screenwriter , film producer , actor and film director . Bidegain became known in particular through his collaboration with the filmmaker Jacques Audiard .

Bidegain received a César in 2010 for Best Original Screenplay for A Prophet and in 2013 for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Taste of Rust and Bones ; he received both awards together with Audiard.

His directorial debut Les Cowboys premiered in 2015 at the Cannes International Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight section . The competition film Dheepan , for which Bidegain wrote the script, also received the Palme d'Or .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
