Emma Donoghue (born October 24, 1969 in Dublin ) is a Canadian writer of Irish origin.

Life

Emma Donoghue was born in Dublin, the youngest of eight children; her father is the literary critic Denis Donoghue. She received a BA from University College Dublin (in English and French) and a Ph.D. (English) from Cambridge University . In 1998 she moved to London , Ontario , where she lives with her partner and children. She acquired Canadian citizenship in 2004.
