occupation

Two days, one night is a fictional drama directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne from 2014. The main role is played by Marion Cotillard .

action

Sandra, a worker suffering from depression, is to be fired from her solar module company following a vote among the workforce. In return, the workers would receive a bonus payment. Sandra can ensure that there is a renewed vote among the employees. In personal visits to her colleagues, Sandra tries to convince them not to follow such a vote against them. The reactions to their attempted influence are very different. When voting again, only half of the workforce voted for Sandra's job. The boss, however, is impressed by Sandra's action and offers her to stay anyway. Surprisingly, Sandra refuses, as another employee's temporary employment contract would not be extended for her job.

synchronization

The German dubbing took place at Christa Kistner Synchronproduktion GmbH in Potsdam . Michael Schlimgen wrote the dialogue book, Susanna Bonaséwicz directed the dialogue.

criticism

"The colleague is fired - and I get a 1000 euro bonus for it? In 'Two Days, One Night' workers face the hardships of neoliberalism. Marion Cotillard excels as an employee in need. "

- Andreas Borcholte : Der Spiegel from October 30, 2014

"After the new film by the Dardenne brothers, you can see more clearly how capitalism shapes behavior."

- Peter Körte : FAZ from October 25, 2014

“With precise observations and convincing actors, the Dardennes fan out a wide range of urban lifestyles. The film makes the different manifestations of the inner weaker self visible. But even those who decide against Sandra keep their dignity. "

- Manfred Riepe : epd film from October 20, 2014
