Bernd Udo Schwenzfeier

Bernd Udo Schwenzfeier (born December 16, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German author of crime and fantasy novels.

He worked for the Berlin police from 1962 to 2001, most recently as the first chief detective and was responsible for burglary, stolen goods and gang theft in the south of Berlin. He is a member of the Syndicate authors' association .

In several of his books, true crimes have been detailed and analyzed. The work of the police received special attention. His first crime novel "Colder than Ice" is also based on a true story. The case described was only transferred from West Germany to the Berlin Wannsee. In contrast, "The Death Command" is a purely fictional work. The case takes place in Berlin and in the Republic of Ireland.

Schwenzfeier, a trained furniture and construction joiner, qualified as a graduate in administration in 1978 and taught from 1985 to 1992 as a lecturer in the subjects of forensics, criminology and forensic technology at the Berlin Police School. He is married, has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and lives in Berlin.
