from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard Fell (born August 29, 1929 in Aachen ) is a German chemist and professor emeritus for technical chemistry at RWTH Aachen .

Life

Fell, who completed his habilitation in Friedrich Asinger's group , was from June 1968 private lecturer at the chair for technical chemistry and petrochemistry and from 1970 scientific advisor and professor. In 1987 he became a university professor and in September 1993 he retired.

The main focus of his research was in the field of hydroformylation , where he investigated the influence of different ligands, the influence of carbon monoxide and hydrogen partial pressures and other parameters on the isomer distribution in hydroformylation. For this reaction he developed the concept of thermoregulated phase transfer catalysis .
