Bernhard Hinterberger

Bernhard Hinterberger (born July 7, 1982 in Oberaudorf, Bavaria ) is a German wakeboard professional.

Life

Bernhard Hinterberger grew up in Bavaria, where he started water skiing at the water ski lift a little later with wakeboarding in 1995 . In 1997 he took part in his first competition, the then still unofficial German championships, in Berlin and took 2nd place. The following year became German champion for the first time. He has been a professional wakeboarder since 1999.

In the following years Hinterberger won 3 world championships, 5 European championships and 8 German championship titles. He is still considered to be one of the best cable wakeboarders in the world and, with his powerful driving style, had a major impact on the young sport, especially in the early 2000s. After countless victories on the cable, he was also the German champion on the motorboat in 2002 and 2009 .

The manufacturer NewSchnitzel has been producing its own Pro model for Hinterberger since 2004.
