Life

Together with Ralf Flörke, Ziegler introduced the “crazy phone” ( fun calls on the radio) at Charivari Munich in 1994 . The comedy element is based on the American model "Candid Phone". Then Ziegler was program manager at Radio Arabella Munich (1997 to 2000).

Bernhard Ziegler has been with Bayerischer Rundfunk since 2001. For the Bayern 1 program , he produced the so-called “fun phone” until August 2016. These fun calls are among the most popular elements of humor on Bayerischer Rundfunk and have appeared on six CDs (as of 2010). A phone call with Lothar Matthäus received brief national attention : Ziegler offered the ex-footballer a place as sports minister in the federal cabinet, whereupon Matthäus accepted.

As a guitarist, Ziegler also played for 12 years (until 2013) in the Bayern-1-Band, a music group exclusively with employees of the station.

In 2000 Ziegler founded Tourentipp Verlag and the mountain sports portal tourentipp.com . Ziegler also writes articles on mountain sports topics for various print media and works for the Bavarian Broadcasting’s backpack radio.
