Bernhard von Stübing

Bernhard von Stübing (first documented about 1120–1125; †  1152 ), also Bero or Benno , was a noble nobleman , grandson of Aribo II , owner of the Grazer Boden in the middle of the 12th century and the first known owner of Stübing Castle . He is also considered the builder of the Herrschaftsburg on the Grazer Schloßberg and the founder of the first Grazer Markt ("First Sack", Sackstrasse) and, very likely, the namesake of Berndorf (now incorporated into Hausmannstätten ). He was the father of Konrad von Feistritz and Adalram, who were beheaded on August 3, 1151 for alleged high treason.
