Bernardine Monastery (Vilnius)

The Bernardine monastery is a convent of Saint Bernard in Vilnius district Užupis . It was founded in 1495. The existing buildings date from 1795. In 1864 it was closed and the nuns were moved to the St. Michael monastery.

Until 1867 the monastery was connected to the Saint Bernard Church by a gallery that crossed the Vilnia River and was badly damaged during the flood of 1845.
