Berta Volmer

Berta Volmer (born October 30, 1908 in Saarbrücken ; † September 1, 2000 ) was a German violinist and music teacher .

Live and act

She received her training from the violinist and violin teacher Carl Flesch .

In 1960, Volmer became the head of a violin class at the Cologne University of Music in Cologne and later became professor of viola there . She was Max Rostal's assistant for 25 years . Together they built up the master class at the Cologne University of Music.

Volmer wrote the two-volume standard work Viola School and Viola Etudes .
