Berthold Klein

Berthold Klein (born August 16, 1941 in Ehrang ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Thuringian state parliament.

Life and work

From 1955 to 1957 he attended a commercial school and then a higher commercial school, which he graduated with a technical diploma in 1959. By 1961 he completed an apprenticeship as an export merchant. From 1963 he worked for nine years as a department head in the civil service in the US armed forces. In 1973 he began training as a nurse and graduated as a head nurse. Then he was head of the unit for education and training.

Berthold Klein is divorced and has three children.

From 1972 until the beginning of his parliamentary activity in Thuringia, Klein was, with interruptions, the local association chairman of the SPD in Ehrang. Berthold Klein was a member of the city council and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group for eight years and mayor for five years. From 1990 to 1994, Klein was a member of the First Thuringian State Parliament , where he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the SPD parliamentary group.
