Sieghardt Rydzewski

Sieghardt Rydzewski (* 20th February 1953 in Merzdorf) is a German politician (former SPD and AFD ) and former district administrator of the district of Altenburger Land .

Life and work

After training as a construction worker in 1972, he did military service . He then completed a master craftsman's training and began a five-year pedagogy course in 1976. In the same year he was appointed teaching master. In 1981 he left this job, according to his own statements for political reasons, and worked as a gas station attendant until 1990. From 1990 to 1994 he was regional sales manager for a mineral oil company. He then worked for three years as a sales manager for the Federal Republic of Germany in a heating technology company.

Rydzewski is married and has four children.

On December 1, 1998, Rydzewski became a member of the SPD in the Thuringian state parliament, succeeding Peter Friedrich , who was elected to the Bundestag in October. Rydzewski was not put back on the electoral list by his party after only ten months at the beginning of the third electoral term on October 1, 1999. In the district election in Thuringia in 2000, he emerged as the winner in the Altenburger Land district. In May 2006 the SPD politician was re-elected. In November of the same year he resigned from the party. He ran as a non-party individual applicant in the 2012 district election and was narrowly defeated by left- wing politician Michaele Sojka in the runoff election . As District Administrator, Rydzewski was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Altenburger Land until June 2012 .

In the 2013 federal election he applied for the direct mandate in the constituency of Greiz - Altenburger Land as the alternative candidate for Germany . He received 6.0% of the first votes and was thus the most successful direct candidate for the AfD nationwide. In April 2014, Rydzewski left the AfD.
