Bertrand Layec

Bertrand Layec (born July 3, 1965 in Vannes ) is a French football referee .

biography

Layec began in 1981 as a referee and was used from 1998 in the French first division. In 2002 he was appointed by FIFA, whose top 20 list he was. He gained international experience through his appearances at the U21 European Championship in 2004, some European Cup matches and the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2007 (PSV Eindhoven versus Liverpool). The manager, who lives in Saint-Avé , Morbihan, is also involved in referee training in France.

Layec became known in Germany through his decision on May 3, 2007, when he showed Miroslav Klose in the semifinals of the UEFA Cup match Werder Bremen against Espanyol Barcelona after an early yellow card later because of a "swallow" yellow-red.
