Vocational qualification

The training of maturity in some German states, the first general education school . It can be acquired after the 9th grade. The name is used in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg and Bremen. While in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Rhineland-Palatinate the term Berufsreife is used for this qualification, in most of the German federal states the term Hauptschulabschluss is common.

The designation is to be differentiated from the vocational maturity examination or vocational matura in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, which correspond more to the technical diploma or Abitur in Germany.
