The Berufsförderungswerk (BFW) Würzburg , based in Veitshöchheim, is a supraregional competence center for the vocational training of adult, blind and visually impaired people.

The BFW Würzburg, founded in 1962 , has been based in Veitshöchheim since 1980 and has over 200 apprenticeships in over twenty different professions and vocational preparation.

Most of the course participants at the BFW Würzburg were employed, but can no longer carry out their previous professional activity due to an acquired visual impairment (illness or accident). The aim of the BFW Würzburg is the seamless reintegration of the participants into professional and social life.

The BFW Würzburg offers its services to blind and visually impaired adults, rehabilitation agencies ( employment agency , pension insurance agencies and professional associations ) as well as businesses and the public sector. E-learning courses for professional development are also offered on a learning platform suitable for the blind.
