Cröchern is a district of the municipality of Burgstall in the northeast of the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt.
geography
Immediately to the east of the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide rises the Tanger -Quellbach, which flows into the Elbe near Tangermünde . The wooded area ( Blätzer forest south of Cröchern with an area of around 50 km²) rises slightly to the west and reaches 107 m above sea level in the Steinberge . NN . The town of Tangerhütte in the district of Stendal is about 13 kilometers away, the former district town of Wolmirstedt about 16 kilometers.
The district of Blätz belonged to the former municipality of Cröchern .
history
The Heidedorf Cröchern was until the dissolution of Prussia in 1947 in the province of Saxony of the Kingdom of Prussia and had a direct border with the Brunswick office of Calvörde .
On November 2, 1919, the Zeppelin airship "Bodensee" made an emergency landing near Cröchern, see LZ-120 emergency landing near Cröchern .
Today Cröchern is the ancestral seat of the Magdeburg nobility, the von Kröcher family .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Blätz was incorporated.
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Cröchern, Dolle , Sandbeiendorf and Burgstall merged to form the new community of Burgstall.

The coat of arms was approved on October 27, 1994 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.
Blazon : "In silver, a red oblique left-hand bar with a silver deer pole, the shield surfaces damascene."
The church colors were red and silver (white).
Transport links
Federal road 189 ( Magdeburg - Stendal ) runs two and a half kilometers west of Cröchern , other country roads lead via Sandbeiendorf and Burgstall to Tangerhütte . The Magdeburg – Stendal line runs east of Cröchern (Tangerhütte and Angern-Rogätz stations). The Altmark motorway from Magdeburg to Schwerin (in the planning stage) will pass near Cröchern.
