The vocational school for music in the Middle Franconia district is a professional music training institute based in Dinkelsbühl .
history
The vocational schools for music have existed in Bavaria since 1977. The foundation of the music schools in Bavaria took place against the background of a great boom in amateur music in recent decades. This made it necessary to train qualified ensemble and choir leaders. A vocational school for music was founded in every Bavarian administrative district, in 1984 in Dinkelsbühl . For this purpose, the Carmelite monastery in the center of the city was rebuilt and furnished.
In 1986 the school had to be enlarged considerably due to the enormous influx. From 1997 the training courses were expanded: The third year of training as an instrumental teacher and the rock-pop-jazz department were added. Since the school was founded, the training has also been used as preparation for studying at a music college . The Dinkelsbühler Musikfachschule is the only vocational school for music where, in addition to classical instruments, both historical instruments (baroque bassoon, recorder, transverse flute, harpsichord) and rock-pop-jazz (electric guitar, electric bass, drums, keyboards, vocals) can be studied.
