Professional Association of German Laboratory Doctors

The Professional Association of German Laboratory Doctors e. V. (BDL) is a German medical association based in Berlin .

The BDL was founded in Bonn in 1983, but emerges directly from the "Working Group of Laboratory Doctors in Germany Bonn eV", which was founded in 1956. In 2012 the association's headquarters were relocated to Berlin. The statutory purpose of the BDL is to "take care of all professional interests of specialists in laboratory medicine , microbiology , virology and infection epidemiology or transfusion medicine , and of medical scientists nationally and internationally and to safeguard the common professional interests of the members as well as the economic interests of professional groups particularly affected," to promote and represent. ”The chairman of the BDL is the Lübeck laboratory physician Andreas Bobrowski.
