Professional association for functional osteopathy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The professional association for functional osteopathy e. V. (bvFO eV) was founded in 2012 as a representative of the functionally oriented osteopaths in Berlin.

The bvFO eV pursues these goals according to its statutes:

  • the spread of the use of functional osteopathy by physiotherapists , alternative practitioners and doctors
  • the establishment of job-specific advanced training standards that are recognized by private and statutory health insurance companies
  • to represent the interests of the functional osteopathy and perform them to be therapists, to a large degree of recognition by public organizations and service providers to achieve
  • this is intended to make functional osteopathy accessible to the general public.

The full members of the association have completed osteopathic training standardized by the bvFO eV, which also qualifies them as service providers for certain statutory health insurance companies. The bvFO eV derives the criteria for this advanced training standard from the training standards of the World Health Organization (WHO). Members of the association who are alternative practitioners or doctors use the service mark Osteopath FO, which should not be confused with an academic title .
