The Besnard Point ( French Pointe Besnard ) is a headland on the coast of Wiencke Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located on the southeast side of Port Lockroy and marks the east entrance to Alice Creek .
Participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered him. Charcot named him after A. E. Besnard (1863 – unknown), seaman on board the expedition ship Français .
