Bessie Shearlaw

Bessie Shearlaw (born around 1915 , born Bessie M. Staples ) was an English badminton player . She married James B. Shearlaw in the fourth quarter of 1945.

Career

Bessie M. Staples won in 1939 mixed with Ralph Nichols at the All England . After the Second World War , she won the Irish Open , Scottish Open and the Scottish Individual Championships as Mrs. JB Shearlaw .

In the marriage register from 1945 on www.freebmd.org.uk she is listed as Bessie. The same source finds a Bessie May Staples born in Lewisham with a date of birth in the 2nd quarter of 1902, which, however, seems too early for the person described.
