BestCrypt is a commercial software for partition-wise encryption of hard drives for Windows , Linux , macOS and Android developed by Jetico .
BestCrypt comes in two versions. BestCrypt Volume Encryption for encrypting entire drives and BestCrypt Container Encryption for encrypting virtual drives which are saved as files.
BestCrypt also offers the BCWipe program for secure data deletion.
Functions
- The creation and use of virtual drives that have been encrypted by AES , Blowfish , Twofish , CAST-128 or other algorithms. BestCrypt version 8 and higher can alternatively use a subfolder on an NTFS disc instead of a drive. Encrypted virtual images are compatible with Windows, Linux and MAC OS X.
- The encryption of multiple files into a single, self-extracting archive.
- The encryption of entire partitions or volumes with a pre-boot authentication for encrypted boot partitions.
- Two-factor authentication
- Hardware acceleration for encryption
- Anti- keylogging functions to protect passwords.
- Secure data deletion using the BCWipe software for deleting unprotected copies.
- Secure sharing and public key authentication in addition to simple password protection.
