Production data acquisition
Production data acquisition ( PDA ) is a collective term for the collection of actual data about states and processes in plants .
This data can be integrated in Plant Information Management Systems , Manufacturing Execution Systems or SCADA systems.

A distinction can be made between different types of operational data when collecting operational data.

technical realization
The data acquisition takes place centrally via screen workstations on central PPS systems , decentralized e.g. B. via screen workstations on decentralized PDA systems or control centers , via data acquisition terminals or through direct machine data acquisition . The "BDE object" is often identified, e.g. B. a work process for which a PDA notification is to be recorded, with barcode support. In addition to these modern methods, there is also a paper approach that uses writing objects to transfer characters or even primitive symbols (such as counting marks) onto the paper.
System architecture
The BDE is structured hierarchically. It consists of BDE machine, BDE area terminals, BDE group computers that are connected to a master computer via BDE interfaces.
- BDE master computer
- BDE interface (concentrator)
- BDE group computer
- PDA area terminal
- BDE machine terminal
