Stop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In railway operations , an operating stop is a stop of a train that is used for railway operations . A distinction is made between scheduled operational stops - for example waiting for a counter train on single-track routes or the overtaking of a stationary freight train by a passenger train - and unscheduled operational stops - for example due to disruptions .

In contrast to the traffic stop, there is no change of passengers or exchange of goods at an operating stop.
