Operating voltage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The operating voltage is after VDE 0100-200 each locally between the conductors of an electrical apparatus ruling or part of the plant voltage . In contrast to the nominal voltage , which refers to the design by the manufacturer, the operating voltage describes the voltage with which the equipment or part of the system is actually operated.

Often, especially with the insulation coordination , a maximum (permissible) operating voltage is defined for the equipment, which is usually identical to the rated voltage .
