The begging oak is a natural monument in the Schöckingen district of the city of Ditzingen . The pedunculate oak is a habitat for various bird, bat and insect species. With a circumference of 5.30 meters and a diameter of 1.69 meters at chest height, it is the strongest oak in the Ludwigsburg district .

The tree is located in the south-west corner of the chicken forest directly on the road between Hirschlanden and Heimerdingen (L 1177). Its age is estimated to be a little over 200 years. It has been designated as a natural monument since 1988. The name Betteleiche is derived from the traveling people who used to camp at the edge of the forest because they were not allowed to go to neighboring Heimerdingen.
