BRAVO Hits 1 is the first sampler from the series of the same name , which has been presenting the latest tracks from the music charts every four months since 1992 and every quarter since 1996 .
background
The first Bravo Hits came on April 21, 1992 as a single CD, MC and vinyl LP with the 16 most popular songs of the readers of the youth magazine Bravo on the market. The idea for this came from the then managing director Thomas Schenk, Head of Strategic Marketing at Warner , who was inspired by hit samplers such as the Larry and the Formula 1 series.
He is therefore considered the inventor of the series in the industry and was honored with the Bravo Platinum Otto by Bauer Verlag .
There are actually two versions of the sampler. Since the rights to KLF 's America: What Time Is Love had expired in 1998, this title had in the limited second edition in 1998 by Sandra Do not Be Aggressive replaced. Both editions are now considered collector's items, but there are also some fakes in circulation.
The cover shows a colorful hurricane with a listing of all hits on the album. A black lettering with the words Exclusiv No.1 Hit Mr. Big : To Be with You in bold stands out.

Charts and chart placements
In the DA-CH countries, samplers are not placed in the official album charts, but in separate compilation charts. Bravo Hits 1 made it into the compilation charts in Germany except for Pang and only had to admit defeat to Ronny's Pop Show . In Austria the sampler also reached position two in the compilation charts and was beaten by the sampler Hit News 92 Vol. 2 for three weeks in a row. In Switzerland, he also achieved a top 10 success with fourth place.
