Ronny's Pop Show

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ronny's Pop Show was a 45-minute pop music show with current video clips that ran on ZDF from 1982 to 1988 . The show started on June 14, 1982 and was broadcast about once a month at around 7:30 p.m., at the start of the show on Monday and then for years on Wednesdays. After the broadcasts ended, a special was broadcast in April 1991 .

The program was moderated between the video clips by Ronny , a little chimpanzee who sat behind a desk, wore a denim jacket in child size 156 and usually held a telephone receiver to his ear. The show also contained short skits in which chimpanzees played the roles. The monkeys were " synchronized " by Otto Waalkes , who also came up with the idea for the show, and who directed it . Rüssl Audio-Video GmbH was responsible for the production of the program .

Waalkes discovered the monkey at Adrian's chimpanzee revue at the Hansa Theater in Hamburg .

At the same time as the show, more than 30 music albums appeared with the hits from the show and the chimpanzee Ronny on the cover.

On January 5, 2017, the program was reissued on RTL Nitro for one year. The new edition was moderated by a chimpanzee puppet led and spoken by puppeteer Martin Reinl .
