Bettina Schleicher

Bettina Schleicher (* 1959 ) is a German lawyer. She worked as president of the Business and Professional Women (BPW) network on the introduction of the Equal Pay Day in Germany and received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2009 . She is committed to the concerns of working women. She addressed the fact that women, despite better education, are paid 22% less on average. At the first Equal Pay Day in Germany, she introduced red bags as a symbol for the red numbers at the end of the year. As deputy chairwoman of the German Women's Council, she consolidated the Equal Pay Day in Germany. Other initiatives recognized their performance.

Career

Schleicher studied law and economics in Bayreuth and Berlin. She did her legal clerkship at the Deutsche Bundesbank . In 1995 she was admitted to the bar and practiced as a lawyer in Düsseldorf. She wrote her dissertation in 1996 at the University of Bayreuth on the subject of the minimum reserve - an obsolete instrument of a modern central bank? .

Act

It was proposed in 2004 for the supervisory board of the Berliner Landesbank. In 2008 she headed the mentoring program at BPW.
