Bettina Villars

Bettina Villars (born July 8, 1964 ) is a former Swiss badminton player .

Athletic career

Villars won her first national title in women's singles in 1989, replacing series champion Liselotte Blumer . In the same year she was also successful in mixed with Thomas Althaus . In 1990, 1991 and 1992 she was able to defend both titles. In 1995 she was successful again in the individual. Internationally she won in Spain in 1986 and 1987. At the Swiss Open 1990 she was second in the women's singles behind Diana Koleva from Bulgaria. In 1992 she qualified for the Olympics in two disciplines. She was 33rd in singles and 17th in doubles.

She is currently the junior national coach of the Swiss U15 team.
