Beyond Obsession (Eng. “Beyond the Mania”) is a German synth-pop band that was founded in 2012.

history

Beyond Obsession was founded in June 2012 by Nils Upahl , Andrè Wylar and Sören Köstel after they left a previous music project together. The following year, the single On My Way and the debut album Listen, Learn and Speak appeared under their own label Beyond Obsession Records. After concerts with well-known big names like Camouflage , DeVision and And One , they were signed by Steffen Keth's music label Popgefahr Records, under which they released their second album Pieces of Machinery in 2015 . Shortly thereafter, Sören left the project for personal reasons, which is why Beyond Obsession only appeared and continued as a duo. In 2015, Beyond Obsession was a permanent support act for And One and then went on tour across Germany together with Solar Fake . During the second joint tour with And One from September 2016, the release of the third album Moments of Truth took place again in self-distribution.

Reviews

“The very pleasant Gore resemblance of the front man's voice in combination with the ingenious and clever use of synths / sequencers creates a strong character recognition value. A separate path has emerged, which works through an empathetic and personable live presence. Fascinating and magnetic. "

- BrainForceOne

“With their latest work, Beyond Obsession deliberately test the limits of the genre without being disturbing or scaring off loyal fans. A successful debut on Popgefahr Records, who are happy to promote other artists of this kind. "
