The District Court of Ried was a district court based in Sigmundsried Castle in Ried im Oberinntal . It emerged from the Laudegg court.

history

The Laudegg District Court had its seat in Ladis in Laudegg Castle until 1550 . In 1550 the caretaker Veit von Wehingen moved the court seat from Laudegg to Ried, to Sigmundsried Castle.

Laudegg Castle was not habitable and Wehingen therefore bought the well-developed Sigmundsried Castle. From 1654 to 1664, Christian Roth, Andreas Sterzinger's father-in-law, was the caretaker of the Laudeck court based in Ried. In 1664, Andreas Sterzinger, son of Martin Sterzinger (Prutz Turm zur Breite), took over the office of caretaker and judge for the Laudeck court, based in Ried, and had the Loreto chapel and the Capuchin monastery built.

In 1698 Martin Andreas Sterzinger from Sigmundsried and Turm in der Breite, the hero of Pontlatz, held the office of caretaker and judge at the Laudeck court, based in Ried. In 1703 he led the battles at the Pontlatzer Bridge against the Bavarians, which had invaded Tyrol in the course of the War of the Spanish Succession , and inflicted a heavy defeat on them. The Kaiser awarded the Obergrichtler the Leopold Cup for their bravery.

In 1806 the Bavarians subordinated the Laudegg judicial district to the Landeck district court. Three years later, Laudegg and Nauders were merged. In 1810, Laudegg and Pfunds became a judicial district based in Ried in Sigmundsried Castle.

The Austrian judicial organization restored patrimonial jurisdiction in 1817 , the Spaur took over Laudegg again, while Pfunds joined Nauders and the Laudegg judicial district became the Ried district. This is how the district court of Laudegg became the judicial district of Ried in Tyrol .

On January 1, 1978, the judicial district of Ried in Tyrol was dissolved and implemented in the judicial district of Landeck .
