The District Hospital Augsburg (short: BKH Augsburg) is a clinic for psychiatry , psychotherapy and psychosomatics in Augsburg with 362 inpatient and 32 semi-inpatient places as well as several outpatient departments. Since January 1st, 2008, the hospital has belonged to the municipal company Bezirkskliniken Schwaben . The close proximity to the Augsburg Clinic enables close cooperation in all medical disciplines.

The first construction phase of the clinic (wards A and B) went into operation in 1989. At that time, 80 beds were available to care for the patients, which were divided into two open and two intensive care areas. In addition, a general psychiatric outpatient clinic was installed.
The second construction phase was completed on October 1, 1995 (stations C and D). In addition to increasing the capacity by a further 80 beds, an extensive range of occupational and occupational therapy options was set up and a multi-purpose hall with a swimming pool was put into operation. In addition, the outpatient area was expanded by setting up a general psychiatric day clinic with 20 treatment places.
On April 1, 1999, the third construction phase with wards E and F ( crisis intervention and geriatric psychiatry ) was inaugurated - since then another 80 beds have been available.
A further expansion phase was completed with the opening of the drug clinic on October 1, 2000, which comprises a ward with 20 beds and a specialized day clinic with 12 places. In addition, a branch of the drug clinic was set up in downtown Augsburg .
From March 2015, the last extension building with 3 additional stations (G1 - G3) with 66 beds was erected in two and a half years, and was inaugurated on October 9, 2017.
Since 2006, the Augsburg District Hospital has been an academic teaching hospital of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
