The city is part of the Chandrapur district . Bhadravati has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 26 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had a total of 60,565 inhabitants, of which 31,451 were men and 29,114 were women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of over 75%, followed by Buddhists with over 18%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 89.26%, well above the national average.
