Bhutan Broadcasting Service ( Dzongkha : འབྲུག་ རྒྱང་བསྒྲགས་ ལས་ འཛིན , Wylie transcription : 'brug rgyang bsgrags las' dzin; short: BBS) is a broadcaster in Bhutan . BBS and BBS 2 are the only two television programs that can be received in Bhutan. It also maintains the only radio station . history

The broadcasting company was founded in 1973 for the Bhutanese radio station NYAB. In 1986 the radio station was renamed the Bhutan Broadcasting Service . TV programs have only been broadcast on BBS since 1999, following a decade-long ban on satellite dishes .; the second TV channel called BBS 2 has been on the air since 2012.
