Bia District

The Bia district was the northernmost district of the western region of Ghana and was located between the border with Ivory Coast in the west and the Brong-Ahafo region in the east. The district was formed in 2003 by dividing the former Juaboso-Bia District and in 2012 it was divided into the Bia East and Bia West districts, which have been part of the Western North Region since 2008 .
