Biblical studies
Under Bibelkunde refers to the knowledge of the structure and content of the canon and the individual biblical books and the communication of this knowledge by teaching or textbooks and learning aids. For the biblical examination, the term Biblicum is also used - from Latin . Courses and books on biblical studies can either have only the Old or the New Testament or both as their topic.
Biblical studies as a subject must be distinguished from actual biblical studies . The Bible studies used as part of the theological studies in preparation for the study of Biblical Studies . This includes, divided into the subjects Old Testament and New Testament, the following disciplines: The introduction to the Old or New Testament (history of the origins of the biblical books), the exegesis of the individual books, the history of Israel and the contemporary history of the New Testament and the theology and hermeneutics of the Old and New Testaments, respectively.
