Jürgen Kegler
Jürgen Kegler (* 1944 in Grünstadt ) is a German Protestant theologian and Old Testament scholar .
Life
In 1964, Kegler graduated from high school in Düsseldorf . From 1964 to 1965 he majored in Protestant theology in Heidelberg , from 1965 to 1966 in Tübingen , 1965 at the summer university in Toulouse , from 1966 to 1968 in Heidelberg and from 1968 to 1971 in Bonn . After the first theological exam in 1971, he received a doctoral scholarship from 1972 to 1974, while studying philosophy and history. From 1974 to 1977 he was a research assistant (with Claus Westermann ). After receiving his doctorate in 1975 as Dr. theol. From 1975 to 1977 he completed his second theological training ( teaching vicariate ) in the Evangelical Church in Baden . After passing the second theological exam in 1977 and ordination in 1977, he was a research assistant for the Old Testament from 1977 to 1984 (at the chair of Hans Walter Wolff ). He then became a pastor in Eppelheim . From 1985 to 2000 he taught the Old Testament at the Theol. Faculty of Heidelberg University. In 1996 he became dean of the Mosbach church district and pastor at the collegiate church there . In 2000 he was appointed to the Church Council in the Evangelical Upper Church Council of the Evangelical Regional Church in Baden in Karlsruhe . In 2003 he was appointed honorary professor at Heidelberg University. He has been retired since October 1, 2009 and continues to teach at the Faculty of Theology.
In 2017, Kegler was elected chairman of the Plankstadt local association of the SPD .
