The library service is a specialist library journal and the organ of the Association Library & Information Germany . It has been published since 1967 and appears monthly.
history
The predecessor of the library service was the library service published from 1961 to 1966 by the Deutscher Büchereiverband and the library service . Until 1973 the library service appeared under the direction of the German Library Association. From 1974 to 1978 it was published by the German Library Association and from 1978 by the German Library Institute (DBI). With the dissolution of the DBI, the Berlin Central and State Library Foundation took on this task.
The library service has been published by Verlag de Gruyter since 2013 . and was published by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Library Center up to the year 2018 . From 2019 the library service will be published by the Distance University in Hagen .
For a long time , the library service was important for librarians in German-speaking countries, not least because of its extensive job advertisement section and the short reports.
