Bielgrange Farm

The Biel Grange Farm is a farm building near the Scottish village of Stenton in the Council Area East Lothian . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A. The monument protection does not extend to the outbuildings, some of which are more recent.

The building was erected in 1803 to a design by the architect Charles Ritchie . The stonemason was John Doughty . The total cost was around £ 1120. The building was expanded around 1840.

Bielgrange Farm is isolated around two kilometers north of Stenton and 600 m west of the Biel House mansion . Directly to the south runs the Wittinghame Burn stream , which joins east to Biel Water . The classicist building is asymmetrical. The oldest parts of the building are two-story, while the extensions from the 1840s are single-story. Red and gray sandstone were built into a layered masonry. The symmetrically structured, east-facing front is three axes wide. The parts of the building finish with hipped roofs .
