Beer bong
A beer bong , beer slide , beer tumbler , funnel , hose or accelerator , rarely a drinking machine or rock sausage , is a device that is used to drink large quantities of beer in a short time, especially during drinking parties .
Structure and functionality
The device consists of a long hose with a funnel attached to the upper end . In order to prevent the drink from draining prematurely during filling, the lower end can be equipped with a ball valve . By lifting the funnel in which the drink is located, a pressure is built up in the liquid column , which enables the drink to be consumed quickly when the tap is opened.
Beer foam
When consuming beer, care must be taken that as little foam as possible is drunk, as this can quickly lead to vomiting. For this reason, the beer is slowly filled into the funnel at an obtuse angle. After a short waiting time, the hose is lowered so far that the foam that has not yet set runs out of the hose.

Possible risks
Beer bongs are used to consume a larger amount of beer and thus also alcohol in a short time. Their use has the character of drinking games - especially when the participants are encouraged to participate through peer pressure and often underestimate the level of alcohol consumption. In addition, the large amounts of fluids that are drunk in a short time can damage the swallowing muscles and the stomach. Excessive binge drinking with such devices, especially by children and adolescents, is classified as an undesirable development and a danger that is counteracted politically.
