Beer brandy
As Bierbrand or eau de vie de bière can a spirit be designated exclusively by direct distillation of fresh beer was recovered. It must be distilled in such a way that the distillation product has the taste characteristics of beer and an alcohol content of at least 38 % by volume , but not more than 86% by volume. No alcohol may be added or flavored . Sugar couleur to adjust the color may be used.
Beer brandy differs from whiskey in that it uses hops and stores the whiskey in an oak barrel .
