Big Apple Coaster in New York-New York Hotel & Casino ( Las Vegas , Nevada , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Sitdown Looping model by the manufacturer Togo , which opened on January 3, 1997 as the Manhattan Express . It was under this name until it was renamed The Roller Coaster in 2007. It was finally renamed the Big Apple Coaster in 2016 . At the time of its opening, it was the highest and fastest loop roller coaster in the world.

In 2004, the manufacturer Premier Rides added a magnetic brake system to the track. The hotel decided to take this step because the forces that occurred when braking with the old mechanical braking system were much more intense than they are now with the magnetic braking system.

Trains

Big Apple Coaster has five trains from the manufacturer Premier Rides , each with four cars. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. In August 2006, the original Togo trains were replaced by Premier Rides trains. The trains are designed in the style of yellow New York cabs .
