Big Bad Shakin ' is an indie / garage rock' n 'roll band from Berlin, founded in 1997 . The band is signed to Foxrocks and has released four albums so far. There is also a live DVD with an open-air concert from 2007.

The band name is derived from the British musician Shakin 'Stevens , among others .

history

From 2006 to 2012 the band worked with the Valicon producer team in Berlin, which produced artists such as Jeanette Biedermann , Lena , Silbermond and Glasperlenspiel . In the course of the recordings for the album Hollywood Flamingo , there was a collaboration with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra for the title True Love Travels on a Gravel Road . This song, first recorded in 1968 by the US country singer Duane Dee , was best known in the early 1970s through the live performances of Elvis Presley in Las Vegas . This song then appeared as a download single with four different versions of the title.

After personnel changes in 2013, the first live shows followed with a new line-up at the beginning of 2014. In the summer of 2014, Big Bad Shakin 'u. a. as headliner at the Jet-Wake-Masters in Pöchlarn, Austria as well as at Rock 'n' Roll im Kurpark (Bad Sauerbrunn, Austria).

A new studio album is planned for 2018. The first recordings took place in October 2015 in the Kinskinoize studio in Berlin. [outdated]

style

Her style is a mix of audience-oriented, American 1950s rock 'n' roll , skate, hip-hop and modern hard rock . The band processes and mixes the different styles and describes their music as " Motörhead meets Jerry Lee Lewis ". Its audience is found primarily among garage rock listeners and in the independent and youth culture sector.

The band is also known for their wild live shows and humorous interludes. At a concert at the Helenesee in Brandenburg, the singer of the band climbed into a passing van with his microphone during the performance and came back on stage minutes later with a fan heater and a yucca palm. During a performance in Marbach, Austria, he stepped off the stage and shook hands with each individual visitor for attending the concert.
