Screen was the title of the first German TV program magazine (Wilhelm Herget-Verlag, Stuttgart, Senior Editor: Dr. Joachim Hoffmeister), which in the 50s as a sister magazine appearing also in Wilhelm Herget publishing radio and television magazine as At that time the only program magazine exclusively contained the TV programs of the public broadcasting corporations as well as text and picture contributions accompanying the program (excluding radio programs).

The prize was awarded to television professionals every year until 1977 and was not awarded afterwards.
